Barça’s midfield player ties the knot with his girlfriend at the Convent de Blanes. Guests included Iniesta, Cesc, Messi, Mascherano and Pedro.
Xavi Hernández married his partner Núria Cunillera at the Convent de Blanes this evening and was joined by a number of team mates past and present for the reception at the Marimurtra Botanical Gardens.
The Barça midfielder arrived in a black Mercedes, accompanied by his parents at around 18:00 hours. The second to arrive was Víctor Valdés, together with his partner, Yolanda Carmona. Former team mates including Santi Ezquerro, Oleguer Presas, Gabri García Pepe Reina and Albert Jorquera as well as former Athletic Club winger Joseba Etxeberría were also in attendance for Xavi’s big day,
Out of the current Barça squad, Cesc Fàbregas, Leo Messi, Javier Mascherano, Pedro Rodriguez, Jordi Alba and Andrés Iniesta were joined at the wedding by their respective spouses but several colleagues were unavailable – Gerard Piqué and Carles Puyol are both abroad while Iker Casillas, Xavi’s great friend, is still on holiday.
Xavi and Núria decided to donate all of their wedding gifts to the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital and have made an initial donation of 25,000 euros.
