Thiago completes Bayern move

The Catalan club released an official statement at 8 o’clock local time. The Germans have agreed a 25 million euro fee.

Barcelona confirmed on Sunday evening that they have reached an agreement with Bayern Munich for the transfer of Thiago Alcántara. The Catalans will receive payment of 25 million euros for the highly-rated 22-year-old – seven million euros more than the player’s buy-out fee (set at 18 million euros until 31^st of this month). Bayern will receive 20 million euros for the player plus a further five million euros from ticket receipts from a friendly match to be played between the two clubs at an unspecified date over the next four years.

The contract ties Thiago to Bayern until 30^th June 2017
